They wanted to preserve this happy moment and snapped a pic. The rest of the story though is more mysterious. This is a photograph of what is believed to be the ghost of Oak Grove Kentucky. She was a young woman murdered by her soldier husband. Supposedly, he threw her over the bridge in the 1960s. It is also said that her decomposing body can be seen walking around the Ghost Bridge. This is a picture of a ghostly apparition of a woman at Waverly Hills Sanatorium. Waverly Hills was a hospital for the treatment of tuberculosis. It is said that only 5% of the patients survived. The apparition is believed to be a nurse named Mary who was found hanging from a lighting apparatus in room 502. The story is that Mary hung herself after getting pregnant by a doctor to whom she was not married. She is said to haunt the halls of Waverly crying out in pain. What do you think?
Ghostly faces were captured in the water from the SS Watertown. It is thought that the apparitions were of James Courtney and Michael Meehan, two seamen who died while cleaning out the cargo tank. Suspected of infidelity by her husband, it is thought that he had her locked up in a corner of the house until her death. She is often seen wearing a brown dress, thus her nickname, the Brown Lady. This photo was taken in Queensland, Australia in the 1940s by a woman who was visiting her daughter's grave. The woman saw nothing out of the ordinary when she snapped the pic. After the film was developed, she could clearly see a ghost baby sitting atop her daughter's grave. No one knows for sure who the baby is, but there are two infant girl graves near this one. One of the most haunted cemeteries in the United States is Union Cemetery in Easton, Connecticut. The most famous ghost seen at this cemetery is the White Lady. She is usually seen in a flowing white gown and a bonnet. She frequently appears on route 59 and route 111. In this image, you can see her face with a stream of ectoplasm. It is not uncommon for cars to hit her and hear a thud or experience damage to their cars, only for her to vanish into thin air.
A photo of the Myrtles Plantation in St. Francisville, Louisiana shows the ghost of Chloe, a former slave. Although no one knows for sure if it is true, the story is that Chloe was found eavesdropping one day. As punishment her master, and some say lover, cut off one of her ears. In order to regain the favor of her master, Chloe poisoned the children of the house so that she could make them well again. A ghostly specter can be seen ascending the tulip staircase in the Queen's House in 1966. When the photograph was taken by a retired couple, no one was near the staircase and it was roped off.
